Garden Design Case Study|
The picture below was taken at the initial consultation stage. Problem solving paid a major part in the design process. The garden is adjacent to attractive woodland, however it is north facing and the existing paving and brickwork, was unsafe and not complementary to the house.
The general brief was to include a paved seating area in the sun, for a side garden which linked in with the rear and low/medium maintenance planting. Four quite different concepts were provided for consideration.
Using squares and rectangles this concept is very structured with clean bold lines.
A basic circle design creating an easy flow around the garden.
Mixing rectangles and circles, this design involves a lot of hard landscaping but potentially very low maintenance.
The curvaceous lines create a meandering effect. With a few minor alterations Theme 4 was chosen as the project design.
